February News from R&R Scrapbooking!
Hello Everyone! Hope this month finds you all scrapbooking madly!
We’ve been so busy here, but when in a newsletter from us don’t you hear that ! So they tell me it’s a good thing.
The licence thing is finally over, the reasoning came in and they indicated that I’d be better suited to a retail location... duh wouldn’t any business? They were not logical at all in my humble opinion there are people who chose to work from home for a myriad of reasons one of which is being able to be here for my family! We were willing to make concessions like appointments only and parking not to exceed driveway but their minds were made up. So we’ve applied for and were accepted for a minor occupation.
The good news is we are now allowed one appointment per day contact Rhea for more information at rhea@scrapbooking.ca
Our customer’s support has been overwhelming, the switch to mail order for local customers we thought would have been met with hesitation. Just the opposite! Many have found that getting their orders next day and with the $2 shipping on orders over $60 worked out just great. I’ve even had customers saying that it’s better for them and they’ll continue to do it this way, they stay more on track with their budget and love not having to go out in the cold :D What a wonderful bunch you all are! Thank you ever so much!!!
We are so busy that now we are asking that orders be emailed or faxed in if there are more than 6 items you are after. This helps with the speed at which we can fill the orders and helps with accuracy, as well you have a written record of what you’ve ordered that is returned with your shipment. Of course we still encourage you to call in your personal information to set up your account with all the billing and shipping info. Once we’ve shipped to you once all we need for subsequent orders is your first and last name and town (Yes we have more than one Nancy, Kim, Sue, etc etc) and sending it general delivery Laurie.... Canada just isn’t working! We even have a couple duplicate names first and last for the really common names so please include your town. Chances are that if there are 2 of you in the same town with the same names you know each other anyway! LOL. Of course if you’ve moved or changed credit cards you’ll need to give us that new info.
We will no longer send product via snail mail Canada Post, there isn’t the reliability of speed or the insurance if it goes missing. These are a lot of work for us and some have reported that the items are arriving damaged....Canada post states that nothing of commercial value is to be shipped reg mail.
The flat rate shipping is based on your province and we are widening the local ship zone to now include Edmonton and the Metro area:
St.Albert, Sherwood Park, oh Heck why not say that if I can call to the address we ship to as a local call and not pay long distance you qualify for the $2 shipping on orders over $60.
To recap the shipping rates are:
Local $2 on orders over $60
Local $5 on orders under $60
Alberta $5.50
BC, SK, MB $6
Everywhere else in Canada $7
We’ll continue to upgrade for free to expresspost when we can for lightweight orders.
and Remember we don’t have any pst! For those out of province that covers your shipping on an order of $95!!! So you get the lowest prices around, personal service, excellent selection and virtually free shipping. Does it get any better than that for not having to get dressed to go shopping?? I think not!
Ever wonder about rubber stamping? I’m not the pro at this, but I do get asked often about it! It’s becoming increasingly popular in scrapbooks and I for 1 would love to learn more.
SO I’m having a stamping up workshop on Feb 21 (evening) and 22 (day). This is not affiliated with R&R Scrapbooking, just Rhea having a home party. The neighbors can’t say anything about that... I may even invite them if I have room!!! So if you are interested in coming to learn how to rubber stamp, do a hands on project and to see their neat goodies, get in touch with me at 489-6713 or via email before the 13th. We’ll have both parties full to 15 each if there is enough people interested. You can see more about stamping up at their website at www.stampinup.com they have some fantastic deals only avail till the end of Feb. I do need to make sure that my friend brings enough supplies so you have to pre-register. This is sure to be a fun time!
Just a reminder we are CLOSED on Sunday’s, we don’t take business calls or orders.
We do this for Faith and Family!
Speaking of which...We’re going away to visit family From Feb 13-20th, orders will be filled and processed in the order in which they are submitted. With the house and the move (I now know why move is a 4 letter word!) and the licence and all the other Gong Shows that seem to be going on in our life I really need a break! Thanks for your patience while I try and not think too much about all the work piling up in my inbox while I’m playing dominos with my Gramma and Ryley’s trading hockey cards with his pals in her wonderful neighborhood! She’s already started baking cookies! Yum! And I’ll betcha diamonds to dollars she’s knitted us all a new pair of slippers :D
Now onto the good stuff!
We’ve been spending like fiends with SO much new stuff here AND on the way.
Already ordered is Emagination, we got a peek at the new punches released at HIA and they are Great, We’ve pre-ordered all the new Tag Punches in all the sizes!!! They are going to be fantastic! (Not shipping till April)
All the Emagination punches will be sent from the US the first week of March we have them holding the order till the contemporary punches are back in stock...
We’re having to place a BIG punch bunch order, don’t ask me why all the punches seem to get low at the same time.... our 2 biggest suppliers just rub their hands together when they see a fax from us!!! Funny though, our customers do the same.. Humm wonder why??
Already here are the little sizzlers pads of paper from Sizzix there are 6 different pads and they are $5.45 ea. Replacement pads for the machine are in stock as well at $4.50 ea.
I’ll be placing a BIG order for sizzix and here’s your chance to get what you’re looking for.
We are taking special orders for these, you’ll have till the 20th to get in your order. You can see all the dies avail at www.sizzix.com to calculate the cost, just take the USD amount and multiply it by 1.5.
Also arrived is the Keeping Memories Alive shipment, all the paper packs are back in stock in both 8.5x11 and 12x12. As well as the new scrap packs of all your favorite big packs!
We’re going to be working on a new spreadsheet for their products, they can be seen at www.scrapbooks.com these items are not permitted on our site so you have to look at them there. Alternatively we also have their retail catalogues for sale for $3 ea.
Rob has been working hard, the store now has a drop ceiling with wonderful lighting!!! Keep your eye on the what’s new button, he’s ALWAYS got a huge pile on his desk for adding to the site! Poor guy, he just laughs at me when I tell him "that job thing you have going is really getting in the way of all the work I have for you to do around here!". Yes ladies Rob works outside the home at a "real" job, I laugh sometimes when I hear that some are checking the what’s new section 3 and 4 times a day... the fellas at work! Even better are those on the other side of the world who check that often their time..when we’re sleeping!
But thanks for checking, without all you addicted scrappers we wouldn’t feel as needed!
My scrappin room is moved in but a disaster to the nth degree! It’s beautiful and I know has a tonne of potential, I’m sure it will take me months to get it all figured out, it’s a lovely sunflower yellow ( I think the real paint colour is Hidden Honey) with white trim, 2 big windows. I bought 2 BIG countertops and added legs from Ikea, I just love them the tops are so nice and smooth and just the right height, they are a wood look finish that matches the wood floors perfectly! I have to tell you all this, maybe you can relate... I was filing my magazines and in a panic discovered that I was missing 4 CK issues, well I KNOW I have ALL but the 2nd issue ever and was just about tripping over my own feet scrambling down to the computer to see on line if the ones I was missing were still avail. Of course not issue #2 BUT the rest were still avail so ordered them online from CK... ended up costing me over $10 a mag but I slept better. You can imagine how happy I was to find them in my mailbox a short 3 days later, ahhh now I can rest I thought.... well.. You guessed it I found 3 of the 4 the VERY next day, choked ah yes! I’ve now vowed to not start re-buying until I’ve unpacked everything!!! I’m still looking for all the lids to my tupperware, kinda important LOL. I have ALL the bottoms but no lids. Will this ever end? I’ll be happy to never see another cardboard box so long as I live! I guess the mailorder business isn’t the one to be in for those kinds of thoughts! Anyway such is life! Oh and if anyone has Issue #2 March/ April 1997 you can be sure I’m very interested!
We have our specials page up and running again, whew! We’re going to be adding some more lines to there shortly. We can hardly keep up with the regular orders and so will be posting the specials and sale items in the specials button.
I am sometimes asked about getting a shopping cart, my opinion of them hasn’t changed much, they are slow, unreliable and end up dumping your cart when you least want that to happen. They time out and I know when I’ve used them I get frustrated with " the item you just tried to buy is out of stock", well we run a more grass roots business here, we have a very high fill rate for most orders, if we’re out of something, we can get in touch with you if it looks like your order won’t be worth shipping. Often you liked 2 or 3 in the same line and just picked one, chances are choice #2 or #3 will work just fine as well! We can use some horse sense for example you’ve ordered 7 or 8 punches and the punch order is arriving in a week, we contact you and you’re fine to wait, your order is pulled first and bingo everyone is happy! It’s more personal and we like it that way! We get a chance to get to know our customers and they us! Remember tho please indicate if you’d like us to substitute, or if you don’t want your order shipped without a certain item.
Well thanks again to everyone for a fantastic time, we really do enjoy what we do here and LOVE hearing how tickled you are with your supplies and of course our service!
Happy Scrapping
